To register with HubPages, all you need is a valid e-mail address. You may use any of the popular website e-mails like Google's Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, or MSN Mail (Hotmail or Windows Live).
How do I earn money?
You write short articles, more or less 500 words, of any topic that you are interested with. HubPages publishes the articles (called hubs in Hubpages) and inserts Google Adsense ads. You earn money from these advertisements.

I am not really that good at writing, can I join HubPages?
Being a professional writer or a skillful writer is definitely an advantage but is not a requirement in HubPages. There's a lot of successful hubbers who earn serious money from HubPages although they are not that good at writing. If you are learning how to write, HubPages is good a place to hone your writing skills.
How much do I earn?
It depends on the quality of your hubs or articles. On how much work you put into your writings. But the good thing is, once you have written a sufficiently large amount of articles, and your articles start earning money from Google Ads, money will keep on pouring in every month, without any more effort on your part.
I want figures, even ballparks
Ok, I know you would ask for figures. You've heard a lot of stories, I assume. Some say they earn a living out of it. Others say thousands of dollars a month. I won't tell you their stories. I'll tell you mine.
I've written around 50 articles. These 50 articles are currently earning around 50 dollars a month, more or less. If we do a little projection with this, if I have 500 articles, I would be earning in the vicinity of 500 dollars a month. What if I have 1,000 articles? That would be around 1,000 dollars per month.
What if I wrote 2,000 articles?

Once you have written about 20 articles and see the cents on your account become dollars, you may NEVER stop writting. Take my word for it. First hand!

About $1 per month per post. That sounds about right. If you have the proper keyword, promotion, backlinks, etc
Thank you for this hub! I was curious as to what the average profit might be. I joined hubapages to learn to write and communicate better. It is nice to know I will make a little money too.
JosHars, Thanks too for reading my article and taking the time out to leave a comment. You can earn money with HubPages, that's for sure. And not little money only. If you could make it a daily habit to write one article each day, in a year's time, that would be 365 articles. After two years, you probably already have around 730 articles. By then I bet you would be earning around $1,000 a month with HubPages.
Try visiting the Forum. You'll learn from old-timer and respectable hubbers that some of them are really making big money out of HubPages. But it takes quite a time. Most of them are writing for HubPages for more than two years.

Thanks for reaching out to me too. I got my hands slapped because I did not read the regs very well and put some links to my blogger blog. I didn't know???? I will reading your stuff and I may ask you some questions. I have written a lot on blogger and GoArticles etc. but no money??? Blogger is hard to get the traffic to. I used the Firefox to check the keywords etc...I have been doing this full time 2 full months but just decided to put Adsense on Hubpages. I write my own content and do not re-use it. I am not the best writer but I am learning about links and I am trying. I live in the Country where there are no jobs and my previous experience was in Mortgage in which I was very successful. AT any rate any advise I would really appreciate. Thank you
I have another question. I just wrote a long articles about Mortgage..it received a 50. I put a lot more time into this article than I did the ones with 60 and above???Do not understand that.
How do you place all of your say Christian hubs together and Mortgage one together or is this possible and am I doing the right or not by mixing? Thanks for your imput.
lctodd1947, Hubscores usually starts at 50 and will rise as your articles age. Just wait and they'll eventually reach 70 to 80 in a week or two depending on the traffic they get. If the articles get decent traffic or pageviews, it will score around 90.

lctodd1947, at the bottom of every hub is a "Share It!" button. Click on the link and then click on the "Link to this page" button. You will find there the title and URL of the article that you may copy and paste into the article that you are linking.
In your case, you may want to link your articles "Mortgage Overview" and "Mortgage Credit Analysis" together. Open for edit "Mortgage Overview" and open the hub "Mortgage Credit Analysis" normally on another window or another tab. Click on the "Share It!" button on "Mortgage Credit Analysis", and then the button "Link to this page". Copy the title and paste it onto "Mortgage Overview". Go back to "Mortgage Credit Analysis" and copy the URL and paste it again onto "Mortgage Overview". You have just linked "Mortgage Credit Overview" with your "Mortgage Overview". Do the same thing again but this time, link "Mortgage Overview" from "Mortgage Credit Overview" so that they both link together.
